Green Day is a punk rock band which formed in the East Bay, California, United States in 1987. They consist of Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass, vocals; born Michael Pritchard) and Tré Cool (drums; born Frank Edwin Wright III). Jason White has played second guitar when the band performs live since 2000 (and is considered to be the unofficial fourth member of the band, to the point where he’s appeared in several of the band’s music videos since 2004), and Jason Freese is the band’s live keyboardist.

The Veer Union - Against The Grain (2009)

The band originated in Meadowvale and Streetsville, two neighbouring districts in Mississauga, Ontario. In 1993, Ben Kowalewicz and Jonathan Gallant were part of a band called “To Each His Own”, where Gallant played bass, and Kowalewicz was on drums. Kowalewicz moved to vocals, and Aaron Solowoniuk was recruited in his place. Then backstage at the talent show of their high school, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Secondary, they met Ian D’Sa, who played with a different band by the name of “Dragonflower”. The two bands started playing local pool halls and bars together.

Chris de Burgh (born October 15th, 1948) is an Irish musician and songwriter.

Born Christopher John Davison in Buenos Aires, Argentina (he is the son of a British diplomat and an Irish secretary), his father’s career moved the family to numerous places around the globe such as Malta, Nigeria, and Zaire. At the age of twelve, the family returned home to live in Tomhaggard in County Wexford, Ireland, where his father bought the twelfth century Bargy Castle and converted it into a hotel.
